The former co-Deputy Bureau Chief of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has become the newest Member of the law firm Lerman Senter, an addition Managing Member Jeff Carlisle is praising.
In his view, Jeremy Marcus, who started April 22, is one of “very few attorneys who have the breadth of experience or depth of knowledge” that he has. “He was there at the creation of the most important telecom, broadband and wireless policies of the last twenty years,” Marcus said. “The firm’s clients are extremely lucky to have access to his expertise, and we’re thrilled he’s chosen to build a practice with us.”
Marcus was named to his most recent role in the Enforcement Bureau in July 2023 and first joined the Bureau’s front office in 2014. “His knowledge of the agency, and his in-depth understanding of technological, interference, and public safety matters have been an invaluable asset to the Bureau,” Loyaan Egal, then the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau Chief, said.
Marcus focused on supervising the Spectrum Enforcement Division, helping oversee the Office of the Field Director, and led coordination efforts to ensure the Bureau could address increasing national security-related issues.
Prior to working at the FCC, Marcus worked for small communications law firms in Washington and Atlanta, as well as in-house for a major telecommunications company.
“After the FCC, I sought out a firm with a sophisticated tech and telecom practice, but where I could know all my colleagues,” said Marcus, who believes Lerman Senter “turned out to fit that bill, and I am very much looking forward to this next chapter.” He began his career at MCI Telecommunications Corp.
