NAB / National Association of BroadcastersMuch of Washington will be in Las Vegas soon for the 2012 NAB Show, and that includes the entire commissioner-level population of the FCC currently occupying the FCC’s 8th Floor. Chairman Julius Genachowski has already been announced as a Monday speaker; the other two will take questions the following day.

Robert McDowell is currently the lone Republican on the Commission, and he will be joined by Democrat Mignon Clyburn.

The session will be held Tuesday 4/17/12 at 2:30PM local time. The show runs from the 14th to the 19th of April.

“During the session,” stated NAB, “which will address regulatory issues facing broadcasters, NAB Chief Operating Officer Chris Ornelas will lead a conversation with the two commissioners and two leaders in the broadcasting’ industry: Caroline Beasley, executive vice president and CFO, Beasley Broadcast Group and Marci Burdick, senior vice president, Broadcast and Cable, Schurz Communications, Inc. Beasley is Chairman of NAB’s Radio Board of Directors and Burdick is Chair of the NAB Television Board.”

Two nominees are waiting in the wings to join the sitting commissioners, Jessica Rosenworcel for the Democrats and Ajit Pai for the Republicans, but their final Senate approval remains stymied by disgruntled Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who is worked up over his lack of access to FCC documents and employees regarding its role in the LightSquared proceeding.
