HOLLYWOOD, FLA. — There’s a new leader that’s gained oversight of the four FM radio stations owned and operated by Cox Media Group, and it is an individual who since 2022 has been overseeing CMG’s operations in Northeast Florida.
The change comes as the current head of CMG’s Miami-Fort Lauderdale stations is exiting to pursue a new opportunity.
Taking the VP/Market Manager post from Ralph Renzi at the Broward County headquarters of WHQT “HOT 105,” WEDR “99 JAMZ,” WFLC “Hits 97.3” and WFEZ “Easy 93.1” is Jimmy Farrell.
“Jimmy is a terrific leader who builds strong teams and achieves extraordinary results,” said CMG Radio President Rob Babin. “After succeeding in roles of increased responsibility across the CMG Radio business, he’s earned the deep respect and trust of his teams and the industry. I know CMG Miami Radio will thrive under his leadership, just as the Jacksonville team has done.”
This is a homecoming for Farrell, who started his career as an intern for CMG’s Miami while earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami. “I’m very excited to come home to lead CMG Miami Radio and continue their outstanding efforts to positively impact our loyal listeners, outstanding communities and clients,” he said. “I’ll miss our CMG Jacksonville team, but I look forward to the meaningful opportunity in front of me.”
Renzi had been in the role since 2017.
