For the past three years, he has served as Vice President of Traffic and Sales Systems for Gray Television.
Now, he’s poised to take on the role of SVP/Sales Operations.
The promotion comes September 1 for Garrett Pope, who has led all facets of Gray’s traffic and programming hubs. These are responsible for inventory management and optimization for nearly 500 program streams across both broadcast and digital platforms.
Recently, Pope built Gray’s sales research hub to provide research insight and strategies for Gray’s sales teams across its portfolio. “His promotion reflects the expansion of his duties and contributions within the organization,” the company said in a Friday morning announcement.
During his time with Gray, Pope has played a key role in incorporating Gray’s many acquisitions and new stations and channels into the company’s sales and traffic workflows.
Based in Charlotte, Pope joined Gray in 2019 as General Manager for Traffic Operations. He came to Gray via Raycom Media, where he was previously GM of Central Traffic Operations. Pope joined Raycom, today owned by Gray, in January 2015.
Before his time with Raycom and Gray, Pope was a longtime traffic manager and director for Univision Communications, and spent 13 years in the organization focused on the television group.
Pope joined Univision following his 2001 graduation from Wesley College in Dover, Del.
