Ex-Univision Sales Leader Resurfaces at Estrella Media

NEW YORK — With the transition in power from Vince Sadusky to Wade Davis at Univision Communications in January 2021, a veteran sales executive exited the multimedia company devoted to serving U.S. Hispanic consumers.


Now, he’s resurfaced at one of the fastest growing competitors to Univision.

Steve Mandala, who served as President/Advertising Sales & Marketing at Univision from July 2017 through the first days of 2021, when WarnerMedia veteran Donna Speciale succeeded him, has accepted the role of Chief Revenue and Local Media Officer at Estrella Media.

He is based out of the Burbank, Calif.-based media company’s New York office, and began his new role Wednesday (12/1).

Mandala’s previous roles include that of EVP/Cable Entertainment Sales for NBCUniversal. At Univision, he was widely respected under Sadusky’s leadership, and took a prominent role in the ANA’s AIMM initiative.
