In her own words, she’s an “experienced radio executive with a superior track record in programing, leadership and talent cultivation.”
That seems to have convinced Cox Media Group to welcome her to its San Antonio radio cluster, where she’s taking a hands on programming and operations position. It marks a move from Atlanta, and the formal end of a 16-year run at Cumulus Media in that market.
RBR+TVBR has confirmed that Emily Boldon is now in San Antonio, and holds the title of Operations Manager. This puts her in charge of CMG’s seven radio brands in the Alamo City.
Boldon has also accepted the Program Director post at both Classic Rock KTKX “106.7 The Eagle” and KISS-FM 99.5, the longtime Rock station.
While those stations will certainly be a focal point for Boldon, she’ll also have a role in the on-air performance of top-rated Classic Hits KONO-FM, Oldies KONO-AM, Classic Country KKYX-AM and FM translator K285EU at 104.9 MHz, Adult Contemporary KSMG-FM “Magic 105.3,” and Country KCYY “Y100”.
Boldon, an Otterbein University graduate, began her post-collegiate career in the music industry. From January 2002-June 2004, she served as the Regional Director of Promotions for Virginia and the Carolinas for Reprise Records, the WMG imprint.
In May 2006, Boldon joined Cumulus’ Atlanta station group, eventually rising to VP of Adult Contemporary Programming and its Stratus Music operation. She exited Cumulus in April of this year.
Now, Boldon reports to VP/GM David Abel and takes a post most recently held by Keith Hastings, who now serves as Brand and Content Director for WDRV-FM “The Drive” in Chicago, owned by Hubbard Broadcasting.
