Elkhorn Adds An FM Translator To Pacific NW Asset Stable

A radio/digital/social/video media company focused on La Grande and Burns, Ore., and the Columbia Basin has agreed to grab an FM translator serving the community of Union, Ore. The seller is an educational institution.


Elkhorn Media Group has struck a deal with Walla Walla University to purchase K288FO at 105.5 MHz, and will undoubtedly convert it to a commercial operation.

The Randy McKone-led group is acquiring the property through its KJDY LLC enterprise, and is paying $10,000 to the school for the facility.

Serving as McKone’s legal counsel is Mark Lipp of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth.

Once the deal is done, the FM translator will cease rebroadcasts of KGTS “Positive Life Radio,” and will be added to a group of stations comprised of KCMB-FM 104.7, KWRL-FM 102.3, KVBL-FM 103.1 and KHKF-FM 92.9 in La Grande.
