On October 1, television stations located in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands were required to file applications for license renewal for terms expiring on February 1, 2021.
However, 11 stations failed to file license renewal applications with the FCC.
That’s bad news: their licenses will expire in one month, unless immediate action occurs.
The 11 stations failed to file license renewal applications.
And, this means their licenses will expire as of February 1, 2021 — provided no renewal application is received by midnight on the date of expiration.
Of the 11 stations, none are in the USVI. Four are in Puerto Rico, including two LPTV facilities licensed to Aguadilla (spelled incorrectly by the FCC).
Two are owned by Caribbean Broadcasting Network, which used WPRU-LP for the now-defunct ABC Puerto Rico. That service ended in 2014.
Co-owned WSJX-LP in recent years has been a LATV Network affiliate.
The remainder of the stations are located in Florida.
They include non-operational WBWP-LD 58 in West Palm Beach.
