EEO Violations Could Bring Big Fine To Monte and Doris Miller

0

The last few years have hardly been easy for veteran Kansas radio broadcasters Monte and Doris Miller. Their Rocking M Media in March 2022 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, three years after a family feud dismissed son Christopher Miller and grandson Cale Miller from the company. An April 2019 deal involving stations in Wichita never closed, leading the couple to seize control and taking the stations dark.

Fast-forward to 51 weeks ago, when 12 stations and one FM translator deemed non-essential to Rocking M were effectively spun to various buyers in an asset auction.

Now, the FCC has slapped Rocking M with a sizable fine for apparently running afoul of its Equal Employment Opportunity rules.
