DuJuan McCoy has become known across the U.S. as the owner and day-to-day leader of two Indianapolis TV stations.
Now, McCoy is widening his territory just a little bit. He’s just agreed to purchase low-power TV stations in two other Indiana DMAs from HC2 Holdings.
An asset purchase agreement dated March 22 and filed Thursday with the Commission shows that McCoy’s Circle City Broadcasting — licensee of WISH-8, WIIH-CD 17 and WNDY-23 in Indianapolis — is seeking approval for the purchase of low-power TV facilities W31ET-D, W28EY-D and WEDX-LD in Fort Wayne and W16CZ-D & W29FI-D in Terre Haute.
The seller? DTV America Corp., controlled by HC2.
It’s a good value for McCoy, as the transaction is valued at $60,000.
It is not immediately known what McCoy’s plans are for the LPTVs.
As the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas began, McCoy instantly became widely known as a broadcast TV station owner, as Nexstar revealed that it would transfer control of the CW Network and MyNetworkTV affiliates serving Indianapolis — WISH-8 and WNDY-23 — to McCoy. The transaction created Circle City Broadcasting, and led McCoy to sell his other TV stations, located in Evansville, Ind., and Lafayette, La., to Byron Allen’s Allen Media Broadcasting.
