Fantasy sports sites Draft Kings and Fan Duel are fighting a court ruling in the state of Illinois that declared their business illegal.
The sites have sued Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan for the ruling.
The sites are fighting a similar ruling in New York; high courts in both states say the sites violate gambling laws.
Draft Kings and Fan Duel argued their games require skill and should not be considered gambling. If unchecked, the Illinois action “will unjustly destroy a legitimate industry,” state the fantasy sports sites in the lawsuit.
