About five weeks after officially showing afternoon driver Jay Severin the door after he told listeners that he hired and exploited “mostly attractive young women” as interns and slept with nearly all of them in his political consulting office, Greater Media’s Boston talker has tapped Doug Meehan. The Doug Meehan Show will be added to the station’s weekday lineup M-F from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. Michael Bower had been filling in the time slot while Greater Media decided on a permanent replacement.

Meehan, heard on WTKK since May, is a Massachusetts native with strong ties to the Boston community.  He brings his unique style and a flair for the fun side of news along with an innate ability to tap into what people in New England really care about.  He started in radio at WLDM in Westfield. MA and WPXC on Cape Cod.  Most recently, Doug flew for seven years as FOX25’s Morning News Helicopter Reporter.  He joined WFXT as Boston’s first full-time television helicopter reporter.  Meehan has extensive field reporting and news anchor experience, working in Dallas, Tampa, Austin, Hartford and Providence. Prior to joining FOX25, Meehan was a general assignment reporter for WHDH 7 News Boston.

Says Meehan:  “I am re-energized by this incredible opportunity because there is no better way to personally connect to people directly than through talk radio. This is an exciting new chapter in my broadcasting career.”

Live, local, and interactive programming now accounts for 100% of WTKK’s weekday lineup from 4:30am to 6pm.  WTKK’s new weekday lineup: NECN Morning News 4:30a-6am, The Jim & Margery Show 6-10am, Michael Graham 10am-2pm, Doug Meehan 2-6pm, Michael Smerconish 6-10pm, John Batchelor 10p-1am, and John & Jeff 1a-4:30a.
