Donation Deadline Nears to Honor Roanoke Victims

rtndfNov. 30 is the deadline to contribute to the memorial fund established to honor two WDBJ-TV employees who were killed in August.


The Radio Television Digital News Association created the fund to accept broadcaster donations on behalf of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

The Schurz Communications-owned Roanoke, Va. affiliate employees were killed by a former station employee.

Donations will be accepted until Nov. 30. The money will be distributed to the victim’s families as well as to Vicki Gardner, executive director, Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, who was shot and wounded during the on-air shooting; and to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
