Donna and Jim Bradshaw’s Jadon Broadcasting has filed paperwork at the FCC to sell both an AM and FM station in Arkansas.
KDMS(AM) and KLBQ(FM) are licensed to El Dorado, in the southern part of the state and about 100 miles south from the state capital of Little Rock.
Edward R. Partridge’s El Dorado Broadcasting Co. is the buyer; The parties filed a settlement agreement with the commission.
In 2011, Jadon delivered a promissory note for $300,000 at an annual rate of 7% interest and the parties signed an asset purchase agreement and also a transmitter and studio lease agreement so Jadon could lease the sites to Jadon. Then El Dorado sued Jadon, claiming it was unlawfully detaining the site; El Dorado said it was entitled to damages and immediate possession of the station.
Now, the disputes have been settled and the claims have been dismissed, they tell the FCC, and Jadon will convey the station once the commission approves the deal.
KDMS is a Class D AM transmitting 2,500 watts day/106 watts night using a non-directional antenna; the station transmits from a single tower and operates on 1290 kHz.
KLBQ is a Class C3 FM with an ERP of 14,000 watts @ 299’ HAAT, operating on 98.7 MHz.
