With the FIFA Club World Cup and the Concacaf Gold Cup on the horizon, Disney Entertainment and TelevisaUnivision have announced a new multiregion streaming video distribution agreement aimed at expanding access to Spanish-language programming in both the U.S. and Mexico.

In the U.S., TelevisaUnivision’s Univision, UniMás, TUDN, and Galavisión networks will join the core channel lineup on Hulu + Live TV beginning June 3. Additionally, a suite of TelevisaUnivision’s specialty channels like N+FORO, tlNovelas, Bandamax, De Película, and Telehit Música will be added to Hulu’s Español add-on at a later date.

In Mexico, the companies are bundling their respective streaming services into a single subscription. Starting in early June, subscribers to ViX, TelevisaUnivision’s Spanish-language streaming platform, will gain access to Disney+ content, creating a hybrid library of Latin American and global entertainment under one login.

TelevisaUnivision President of Streaming and Digital Rafael Urbina stated, “We’re thrilled to enter into this new partnership with Disney that puts our community at the center. TelevisaUnivision is the top producer of Spanish-language content in the world, and this deal underscores two critically important elements: our portfolio is a main anchor for any pay TV distributor – without TelevisaUnivision, there is no complete pay-tv offering; and our direct-to-consumer business continues to break boundaries as ViX further strengthens its powerful connection to Hispanics around the world.”

Hulu General Manager and EVP, DTC Content Partnerships Lauren Tempest added, “This new partnership allows us to strategically build upon our current channel offering and Spanish-language content available on Hulu + Live TV, while providing subscribers in Mexico with a meaningful opportunity to access the very best of Disney’s blockbuster films, award-winning Originals and iconic franchises alongside TelevisaUnivision’s industry-leading Spanish-language content including news, novelas, sports and more in one subscription.”
