Dish Network has filed a breach of contract lawsuit against NBCUniversal, alleging the company violated the terms of their 2013 retransmission agreement.
The court move came a day after NBCUniversal warned Dish subscribers that its cable and broadcast channels may go dark on the service this weekend.
NBCUniversal is looking to arbitration to stop the potential blackout. In response to the lawsuit news, NBCUniversal said if Dish proceeds with arbitration it would take part in the process and looks forward “to receiving the fair market value for our portfolio of networks.”
