Bill Press and Stephanie MillerTwo radio talk shows are heading to the TV screen as Current TV will be carrying Dial Global syndicated Bill Press and Stephanie Miller. The cable simulcasts will air back-to-back, filling the Current schedule from 6:00 am to noon ET.

“I’ve followed Stephanie and Bill for years.  They provide the kind of smart, insightful news analysis that our viewers want to hear,” commented Current TV Chairman, Al Gore.  “Bill brings a vital perspective directly from the heart of the Beltway, and Stephanie’s fresh take on politics and news has a decidedly outsider flair.  We’re really looking forward to bringing their voices to our viewers.”

Press told RBR-TVBR Executive Editor Jack Messmer that adding cable (the show is already streaming video) means that he will have more in-studio guests. And since his studio is in Washington, DC, that means newsmakers from Capitol Hill will be not just heard, but seen as well.

Decidedly liberal, Press declared that his morning show on Current will be “unfair and unbalanced” – clearly a reference to a competing network with a decidedly different slant.

Miller’s show will follow Press each day. She told RBR-TVBR that televising her radio show seemed like a natural thing to do – and something that’s been mentioned several times in the past.

By launching in an election year, Miller sees no shortage of material. “This Republican field is the best for comedy that I’ve ever seen,” she quipped.
