Veteran journalist Chris Cuomo will be staying a little longer at the MVPD-distributed news and political talk network owned by Nexstar Media Group, thanks to a fresh multi-year agreement announced on Monday.
This ensures NewsNation will continue to be the home of CUOMO, which sees the anchor and reporter take over the 8pm Eastern time slot on the network.
As Nexstar Networks Division President Sean Compton sees it, “Chris is a one-of-a-kind talent whose unrivaled analysis and commentary have helped grow the audience at NewsNation and strengthen our brand. He believes strongly in NewsNation’s mission of delivering ‘News for All Americans’ and we are extremely pleased that he will remain a staple of the network’s primetime lineup.”
CUOMO offers a run-down of the top news in politics and media, with interviews and analysis from various guests.
A signature segment, “Have Your Say with Chris,” sees viewer interaction with the host.
Cuomo said, “Of course I am staying. Where else but NewsNation can you expose the game instead of being forced to play? Let’s get after it!”
Cuomo, who was formerly at CNN, joined the NewsNation lineup in October 2022. He was dismissed from CNN after purported actions involving a lawsuit involving his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Earlier in his career Cuomo served as the lead news anchor for ABC’s Good Morning America and, before that, was at FOX News Channel.
