Cumulus’s Houston Head Gets Expanded Role As RVP

For a decade, he has served as VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Media‘s heritage Top 40 KRBE-FM in Houston, acquired nearly 20 years ago from Susquehanna Radio. Now, he’s being rewarded with a promotion to Regional Vice President. As such, he’s adding oversight of the company’s Tucson and Albuquerque stations to his day-to-day duties.

Earning the bigger role at Cumulus is Alex Cadelago.

In his expanded role, Cadelago will report directly to Cumulus President of Operations Dave Milner.

Cumulus/Albuquerque VP/Market Manager Jeff Berry and Cumulus/Tucson VP/Market Manager Ken Kowalcek will now report to Cadelago, starting July 1.

Cumulus Media’s Albuquerque stations are KDRF-FM (Adult Hits); KKOB-AM/FM (News/Talk); KMGA-FM (AC); KNML-AM/FM (Sports); KOBQ-FM (CHR); KRST-FM (Country); and KTBL-AM/FM (Rock). In Tucson, Cumulus owns and operates KCUB-AM (Sports), KHYT-FM (Classic Hits); KIIM-FM (Country); KSZR-FM (Urban); and KTUC-AM Talk).

“Alex is an extremely effective and capable leader,” Milner said. “His track record in Houston has been outstanding, so it’s a logical progression for him to help lead both Albuquerque and Tucson.”

Against tough competition from Audacy Inc.’s Hot Adult Contemporary KHMX, KRBE has remained a Top 40 leader in the nation’s sixth-largest market. The Roula & Ryan Show, its morning anchor, is a large part of that success.

Cadelago’s prior experience includes roles as VP/Director of Sales for the stations now owned by Audacy, and worked there under CBS Radio ownership. He’s also served as Local Sales Manager for Clear Channel Radio’s Houston stations, prior to the company’s change to iHeartMedia.
