Cumulus Settles ‘Hang Zone’ Hosts’ IP Contract Breach

DALLAS — In mid-July, one month after renowned sports talk host Norm Hitzges retired from Cumulus Media-owned KTCK-AM 1310 & FM 96.7 “The Ticket,” heard across North Texas, the station’s midday hosts resigned after failing to negotiate a contract agreeable to all parties.

On August 9, Cumulus and a team of five attorneys including L. David Anderson of Baker & Hostetler LP filed suit against the air personalities in a U.S. District Court, asserting that Dan McDowell and Jake Kemp broke their noncompete agreement and thus breached their contract.

Now, the The Hang Zone hosts have reached a settlement with Cumulus, resolving their differences.
