Radio’s Financial Summit: Forecast 2020 will be co-chaired by the President/CEO of Cumulus Media: Mary G. Berner.

“I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with Mary Berner on Forecast 2020,” says Radio + Television Business Report EVP/Publisher Deborah Parenti. “Mary’s extensive media background will bring a uniquely 360 perspective in creating a timely and provocative agenda that will take a look at what’s in store in 2020 and how that will impact future industry growth and direction.”

Berner adds, “I’m delighted to co-chair this year’s Forecast. With renewed interest in the power of audio, there has never been a more critical time for us to understand the shifting dynamics of the audio landscape and the opportunities and risks these changes may bring.”

Mary Berner was named President/CEO of Cumulus in October 2015 after having served on the company’s Board of Directors for six months. Under her leadership, the company reversed four years of financial and listenership declines. Her previous experience includes serving as President/CEO of MPA — The Association of Magazine Media — and as CEO of Reader’s Digest Association, the $2 billion global media and direct marketing company. There, Berner developed and executed a successful turnaround strategy that ultimately led to a doubling of the stock price. Prior to that, Berner led Fairchild Publications for more than five years, first as President/CEO of the standalone company, and later when it became a division of Condé Nast Publications, at which time she served as President and an Officer of Condé Nast.

Berner began her career selling advertising for a neighborhood newspaper in Boston. She has been ranked No. 3 on Radio Ink’s Top 40 Most Powerful People in Radio list for the last three consecutive years.
