He has served as Senior Director of Sales for WXYZ-7 and WMYD-20, the E.W. Scripps Co.’s stations serving Detroit since 2021.
Starting September 3, he’ll be the new VP/General Manager for Scripps’ ABC affiliate serving Southern Nevada.
Scripps has promoted John Cook to the role at KTNV-13 in Las Vegas.
He’ll report to Anita Helt, the RVP/General Manager overseeing KTNV. “John is an experienced local media executive who has hit the ground running at Scripps, leading change in our stations amidst a constantly shifting media landscape,” Helt said. “During his time with our Detroit stations, he has helped deliver impactful results against revenue objectives and has worked closely with all departments.”
Before joining Scripps, Cook held several sales leadership positions for Graham Media Group flagship WDIV-4 in Detroit, including Local Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and New Business/Digital Sales Manager.
