NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” have both tied for #1 in their time periods for the week of December 14-18 in the key late-night demographic of adults 18-49 and won their hours outright in 18-49 viewers over all broadcast and cable competition. 

Conan delivered his biggest weeklong adult 18-49 audience, 1.448 million persons, so far this season (since the week of September 14-18) and Jimmy Fallon amassed his biggest 18-49 audience, 855,000 viewers, in nine weeks (since October 12-16).

Conan has finished #1 or tied for #1 among broadcast networks in adult 18-49 rating for seven of the last eight weeks and Jimmy has been #1 or tied for #1 in 18-49 rating for five of the last six weeks.

In adults 18-34, Conan dominated Letterman and the ABC team of “Nightline” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for the week, posting a 1.0 rating in 18-34 versus “Late Show’s” 0.7, “Nightline’s” 0.6 and “Kimmel’s” 0.3.

The median age of Conan’s audience last week was 46.0, nine years younger than Letterman’s 55.8 and 11 years younger than “Nightline’s” 57.4.  At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, the median age of Jimmy Fallon’s audience (42.9) was nine years younger than Ferguson’s (52.1) and 10 years younger than Kimmel’s (53.1).

For the week at 1:35 a.m. ET, “Last Call with Carson Daly” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 0.3 in 18-34) tied ABC’s Kimmel in 18-49 and 18-34 rating. 

For the week of December 14-18, Conan’s average 1.448 million adults 18-49 outscored Letterman’s 1.404; in total viewers, Conan’s audience of 2.640 million persons finished behind Letterman’s 4.359 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan’s 673,000 topped Letterman’s 481,000.  At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon’s 855,000 adults 18-49 for the week topped Ferguson’s 830,000; in total viewers, Jimmy’s 1.441 million finished behind Ferguson’s 2.003 million; and in adults 18-34, Jimmy’s 432,000 out-delivered Ferguson’s 351,000.
