Journal Communications announced that it had closed the sale of two AM stations in Boise, ID – KGEM and KCID – to non-profit Salt & Light Radio. The sale for $950,000 was brokered on the Journal side by Kalil & Co. and on the buyer’s side by The Exline Corp.

“The sale of these stations to Salt & Light will bring Catholic programming to the Treasure Valley and allow us to focus on our four remaining radio stations and two TV stations,” said Doug Kiel, Vice Chairman of Journal Communications and CEO of Journal Broadcast Group. “We will continue to serve advertisers and viewers with our multiple media properties,” he noted.

Journal Broadcast Group currently owns KIVI-TV (ABC), KNIN-TV (CW) and radio stations KJOT-FM, KQXR-FM, KTHI-FM, and KRVB-FM in Boise.
