In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the March on Washington and the “I Have a Dream” speech, Clear Channel Radio and the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc., announced that 38 local stations will collaborate in the Clear Channel “Build the Dream” Radiothon today.

“This is the first time in history that Clear Channel has participated in a radiothon of this magnitude. We are proud to be a part of the commemoration and cannot think of a better way to honor Dr. King’s rich legacy than to join forces with the Foundation to raise funds for the Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC,” said Doc Wynter, SVP, Urban Programming for Clear Channel Radio.

All stations will solicit donations on-air and online today.  Listeners will be directed to the Memorial Foundation’s website www.mlkradiothon.org and to (800) MLK-1386 to make a donation.  All funds raised from the campaign will go toward the Memorial, which will be erected on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
