If you’re in Spain and seeking a radio network playing everything from the salsa classic “El Gran Varón” by Willie Colón to Shakira’s “Ojos Así,” there’s a DAB+ offering to quench your audio thirst. This audio offering heard in Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and the capital, Madrid, will soon be offering more than just salsa and merengue.
It’s thanks to an arrangement with the José Villafañe-operated Nueva Network that brings “El Chiquibaby Show” to España.
The program is an entertainment-focused offering heard in syndication on Spanish-language radio stations across the U.S. and is helmed by Stephanie “Chiquibaby” Himonidis, a familiar air personality to those who have attended the Hispanic Radio Conference in recent years.
The program will begin airing on Monday (7/22) on Sol Radio, a digital radio offering available on DAB+ 8B in Madrid, 9A in Murcia, and 8D in Valencia. According to unconfirmed information provided by Grup Activa, Sol Radio is also on 102.5 MHz in the Alicante area, and on three FM signals in a region near Cap de Martí on the Mediterranean Sea.
The syndication arrangement was done between Nueva Network and Air Waves Ads SL, a group formed in 2022 by José Manuel Agullo.
Chiquibaby has been recognized as one of the “2024 Most Influential Women in Radio” by Radio Ink.
