An Amendment To A HPRN Sale Emerges
On January 8, Monte Spearman's High Plains Radio Network agreed to sell an AM, an FM, and an FM translator to a broadcast ministry. On Feb. 12, an amendment to that agreement was filed with the Commission. It's just been posted to the FCC database and includes the original APA, which contains new details about the deal.
Hochman Set To Resurrect An Oahu AM
George Hochman is the sole owner of two FM stations in the Aloha State and the majority shareholder of five other radio stations in Hawaii. A sixth station is 25% owned by Hochman, with noted Los Angeles air personality William Poorman another 25% owner. Now, Hochman is set to become the 100% owner of a silent AM serving the Honolulu market.

It concluded a four-year battle with a bank to resolve the company's debts, but came with some drama involving the refusal by this broadcaster's leader to sign off on a sale of its final AM properties. Now, the trustee is selling the stations. The buyer? The Keystone State radio specialist led by Kristin Cantrell.

Now, he is selling one of them -- a Class B AM serving Nassau County, N.Y.; Southern Connecticut; and Monmouth County, N.J., thanks to its unique signal pattern.
Metro Deal Helps West Virginia Radio Grow
The Morgantown, W. Va., based radio broadcasting company led by President Dale Miller, widely known as the employer of the late programming executive Lacy Neff, is growing. It's acquiring an AM/FM combo, and an FM translator, covering rural Hancock County, Md., in addition to parts of the Mon Valley in Pennsylvania and the West Virginia city of Martinsburg.
