Smack dab in the middle of California's San Joaquin Valley is the town of Wasco. It is here that a silent low power FM station licensed for 62 watts exists. This LPFM's board is evolving, prompting a Form 315 filing with the Commission. It is the lone transaction submitted to the FCC for approval in RBR + TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Tuesday, June 20.

In what some may label a "fire sale" at troubled streaming audio company Pandora Media, the Oakland, Calif.-based company getting a $480 million investment from Sirius XM has just agreed to sell its only radio station for half of what Pandora paid for it exactly four years ago. Tucson-based Kalil & Co. represented Pandora in this transaction, which sees a South Dakota FM end up in the hands of a local broadcast company.

Wilfredo Blanco-Pi and La Más Z Radio are getting new AMs in a somewhat complicated deal in la Isla del Encanto. At the same time, Blanco-Pi has agreed to a plan that would move the transmitter of an AM owned by International Broadcasting Corp. to the site of one of Blanco-Pi's stations. Blanco-Pi will then sell the 5.6-acre site to IBC.

A family-run AM/FM combo in the northwest corner of Iowa will now be owned in full by the daughter of the couple who ran it. The move comes following the May 3 death of the family matriarch, who passed away at the age of 95.

In 2016, one of the largest television networks in the Dominican Republic gained an over-the-air home in Puerto Rico. Now, the owner of the Carolina, P.R., based UHF facility is selling the station. The buyer is the parent company of a station that has largely served as a west-island affiliate of one of Puerto Rico's biggest TV stations.

Amador Bustos is slowly acquiring more and more radio stations, as the veteran Spanish-language radio operator swiftly reestablishes himself as the Pacific Northwest's Hispanic media leader. Now, in a deal crafted in mid-May but not filed with the FCC until June 14, he's adding two FMs and an AM in Washington's Wine Country.

Nearly fifteen years after Univision Communications predecessor Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. completed its acquisition of five Simmons Media stations in the Albuquerque, N. Mex., market — giving it entry into one of the nation's top Hispanic DMAs, Univision is selling the four stations it still owns to a major regional player. A 45-year radio industry veteran who serves as president of Mercury Capital Partners has agreed to pay $2.3 million for a trio of AM radio stations serving some of the nation's biggest markets. In a deal filed with the FCC on Monday, the Charlie Banta-led Universal Stations LLC is the buyer. The seller is tied to Banta, making this deal a bit of a reorganization.

A Class A FM serving the growing Casa Grande, Ariz., area and nearby San Tan Valley portion of the Phoenix DMA has been sold by Univision Communications. Who's the owner? None other than the prolific buyer led by a man named Mike Novak. Who's the broker? Kalil & Co., representing the seller.

A silent FM radio station on the campus of a major university along the Wasatch Front will soon be brought back to life. That’s thanks to a transaction that sees one of the most prolific buyers in recent months adding yet another station to its stable of noncomms. A Class B facility serving the Metroplex has been sold by a media broker who gained possession of the AM station in a March 2015 bankruptcy auction conducted in conjunction with a Chapter 11 filing by James Crystal Enterprises. The buyer, however, is not the one that was contracted to purchase the Dallas market property in February.

In just over six months, an independently run radio operation using a pair of translators on two different signals has morphed into an EDM monster capable of reaching nearly six South Florida counties. Doing so required a swap with iHeartMedia, and a deal with JVC Broadcasting first announced in May. New details about the JVC transaction are now known.
