A Golden State LPFM Shuffles Board

Smack dab in the middle of California's San Joaquin Valley is the town of Wasco. It is here that a silent low power FM station licensed for 62 watts exists. This LPFM's board is evolving, prompting a Form 315 filing with the Commission. It is the lone transaction submitted to the FCC for approval in RBR + TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Tuesday, June 20.

Pandora Dumps Its Only FM Station

In what some may label a "fire sale" at troubled streaming audio company Pandora Media, the Oakland, Calif.-based company getting a $480 million investment from Sirius XM has just agreed to sell its only radio station for half of what Pandora paid for it exactly four years ago. Tucson-based Kalil & Co. represented Pandora in this transaction, which sees a South Dakota FM end up in the hands of a local broadcast company.

Trades, And A Tower Move, Planned In Puerto Rico

Wilfredo Blanco-Pi and La Más Z Radio are getting new AMs in a somewhat complicated deal in la Isla del Encanto. At the same time, Blanco-Pi has agreed to a plan that would move the transmitter of an AM owned by International Broadcasting Corp. to the site of one of Blanco-Pi's stations. Blanco-Pi will then sell the 5.6-acre site to IBC.

Sheldon Combo Stays In The Family

A family-run AM/FM combo in the northwest corner of Iowa will now be owned in full by the daughter of the couple who ran it. The move comes following the May 3 death of the family matriarch, who passed away at the age of 95.

A ‘Super’ TV Sale In Puerto Rico

In 2016, one of the largest television networks in the Dominican Republic gained an over-the-air home in Puerto Rico. Now, the owner of the Carolina, P.R., based UHF facility is selling the station. The buyer is the parent company of a station that has largely served as a west-island affiliate of one of Puerto Rico's biggest TV stations.

Charlie Banta Buys A Trio Of AMs, In Principle

A 45-year radio industry veteran who serves as president of Mercury Capital Partners has agreed to pay $2.3 million for a trio of AM radio stations serving some of the nation's biggest markets. In a deal filed with the FCC on Monday, the Charlie Banta-led Universal Stations LLC is the buyer. The seller is tied to Banta, making this deal a bit of a reorganization.
