As RBR+TVBR reported on Monday, Connoisseur Media is selling four stations in Connecticut to Red Wolf Broadcasting Co. These stations were part of a five-station deal that closed in July 2014 that saw Westport, Conn.-based Connoisseur acquire the quintet from Buckley Radio for exactly $7,922,035. A Boston Conversation Starter Set To Roar Back To Life

On June 30, 2017, a Class B 50kw AM facility in Boston signed off the air, concluding a life that began Oct. 18, 1934. Under Max Richmond, this station in 1957 adopted a Top 40 format, which lasted until March 1975. From 1976, it embraced Talk and Sports in various incarnations, and even changed its call letters to WITS-AM. With its Waltham, Mass., tower lease expiring, this storied AM went dark. Now, WMEX-AM 1510 is ready for its resurrection. It's the top topic of discussion in RBR+TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Thursday, Jan. 18.

A Starry WV Trio Is Transferred To The Owner’s Estate

An AM/FM combo and an FM translator in West Virginia are being shifted from the company that has owned them to the estate of its owner. This has been done as a result of the September 2017 death of the company's majority shareholder, Lawrence D. Koenig. His widow is overseeing the estate -- and thus few changes, if any, are expected at these stations. It's the top item for discussion in RBR+TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY, which also sees the closing of a TV station acquired by Entravision Communications.

Gotham’s ‘Channel 6’ Trades Hands To Top Korean Player

The Korean word for "sold" would be the most appropriate hand-written note on one Form 314 filing made with the FCC on Thursday. This deal sees the majority shareholder of NY Metro Radio Korea Inc. acquire what is, in reality, a low-power TV station with audio available at 87.7 MHz across the New York Tri-State Area.

Louisville Translator Catches A Big Price

A 250-watt translator broadcasting from a transmitter alongside the Ohio River just blocks from downtown Louisville, Ky., is trading hands. The buyer is paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for the facility, which is used to bring some "AM revitalization" to a "Big X" of a property.

It’s Official: North Country Radio Gets Adirondack FM

In late November, Ted Morgan's Saranac Lake Radio reached the final chapter in its life as an owner of AM and FM radio facilities. As reported by RBR+TVBR, the company founded in 1927 marked its 90th anniversary in near silence, with WNBZ-FM 106.3 in Saranac, N.Y., the only station licensed to the company actually on the air, via automation. As Morgan started to sell his stations, it became known that another Upstate New York broadcasting company had gained the right of first refusal to acquire one of Saranac Lake's stations. That company has now moved forward with its decision to purchase the dark FM.

A Lone Star LPTV Is Traded

A low-power TV station serving a market impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017 is trading hands. This facility is the subject of a March 2012 Order to Show Cause issued by the FCC, seeking answers as to why Class A authorization should not be modified to LPTV. That involved a previous owner. Now, the current owner has decided to part ways with the facility, and it's the lead deal up for discussion in RBR+TVBR's TRANSACTIONS TODAY for Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.
