In an act that creates a single trade association for promoting IP in the media and entertainment industry, The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) is merging with the Media Networking Alliance (MNA). The combination of the two entities comes after a two-year history of collaboration.

The nation's largest radio broadcasting company, iHeartMedia, revealed Monday in a SEC filing that its iHeartCommunications subsidiary is "currently exploring a possible private capital-raising transaction." From the looks of this transaction, it appears that the company is moving forward with plans to amend or fully agree to a counter proposal presented by key lenders that could give them all of iHeart's equity in Clear Channel Outdoor and a significant stake in iHeart.

Cumulus Media shares plummeted during Thursday's trading on the OTC exchange, following the Atlanta-based company's Wednesday evening announcement that it has elected to file for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The filing by the nation's No. 2 radio broadcasting company by number of stations was made in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Confirmed: Ted Morgan Is Selling All Of His Adirondack Stations

Yesterday RBR+TVBR reported on the sale of silent WNBZ-AM to North Country Radio — the Lake Placid-based entity co-owned by Jonathan Becker and Gregory Gallacher — by fiscally impaired broadcaster Ted Morgan. Now, RBR+TVBR has confirmed that the only station owned by Morgan that is actually on the air has been sold, and he's exiting the business. However, little is known about the buyer of the station deal that's just been announced.
