NUVOtv parent company, SíTV Media, completed its acquisition of the Fuse network from
FilmOn to keep on
FilmOn, the VOD and broadcast TV streaming provider (similar to Aereo) from Greek billionaire Alki David, added a new service in Q1 that lets viewers remotely watch local TV broadcasts. Through its “Teleport Technology”, a person in New York can watch local television broadcast in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and Denver, among other US cities. So far, cities where local broadcasts are being received for transmission include Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, North Bergen, NJ, Phoenix, Seattle, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Tampa and DC.

Political advertising to hit $8.3 billion this year
As Borrell Associates outlined in its report four years ago, politics in this country has become an endless campaign, with TV and cable outlets the chief beneficiaries. There are 30,000 elections being held across the U.S. this year, injecting what we they estimate will be $8.3 billion into the advertising ecosystem. The spending runs from $47,000 for the average town council race up to $23 million for a Senate campaign or $27 million for a gubernatorial race. Close to two-thirds of that money will be spent between July 1 and Election Day.
