Carr Joins Seven Former FCC Commissioners At MMTC Affair

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senior Republican-aligned FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr will join no less than three former Commissioners and four former agency Chairs at the sixth annual “Former FCC Chairs’ Symposium” hosted by the Multicultural Media, Telecom & Internet Council.


This year’s event is scheduled for July 17 and is a virtual affair, scheduled for 10:30am-12:30pm Eastern.

Carr will be a speaker at this year’s event, and he’ll be joined by panel moderators Deborah Taylor Tate and Jonathan Adelstein, who each are former Commissioners. Appearing as speakers: fellow former Commissioner Michael Copp and former Chairs Dick Wiley, Bill Kennard, Ajit Pai and Mignon Clyburn, who held the role of Chair for an interim period.

MMTC President Robert Branson will be a moderator, as Board Chair and Treasurer Ronald Johnson will speak.

Speakers will discuss universal broadband, artificial intelligence, “Section 230” concerns, M&A policy, and minority media and telecom ownership, the MMTC says.
