MEXICO CITY — Digital media tech company and Hispanic-focused content vehicle Canela Media has added five linear channels to its Canela.TV platform. They come courtesy of one of Mexico’s primary broadcast television companies, which has seen a fading over-the-air presence in the U.S. in recent years.

The quintet of channels come courtesy of TV Azteca, which has traditionally been the No. 2 behind Televisa in Mexico.

Four linear channels will be added to Canela.TV in the U.S. In Mexico, Azteca Uno will be added to Canela.TV.

The partnership is designed to “further enhance Canela Media’s commitment to delivering engaging and culturally relevant content,” the company founded by CEO Isabel Rafferty Zavala says.

The four new linear channels from TV Azteca on Canela.TV in the U.S. are comprised of:

  • Azteca Internacional- The external channel of TV Azteca, with coverage throughout Latin America outside of Mexico.
  • Clic – offering genres ranging from lifestyle, healthy, wellness, and automotive
  • Corazón – a telenovela-focused channel
  • Cinema

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of TV Azteca to Canela.TV and the launch of the new linear channels,” said Rafferty. “TV Azteca has a vast library of amazing content that is familiar to our audience and the new linear channels will provide our audience with even more diverse and exciting entertainment options that are centered around well-known and beloved celebrities and genres.”
