PORTLAND, ORE. — A station once sold, and reacquired, by the company led by Hispanic radio broadcaster Amador Bustos is once again being sold.
Two other AMs, all in the Pacific Northwest, are also being divested by Bustos Media Holdings.
The buyer is Centro Familiar Cristiano, and it has agreed to the following acquisitions:
- Class C KRYN-AM 1230 in Gresham, Ore., serving Portland from the east side with 920 watts from 1 tower, for $184,500. A $4,500 non-refundable deposit has been made to Bustos; the remainder is due in cash at closing.
- Class B KDYK-AM 1020 in Union Gap, Wash., covering the Yakima market with 4kw by day from 2 towers and 400 watts at night from 1 tower. Along with the AM comes FM translator K299AD at 93.7 MHz in Yakima. The facilities are being sold for $150,000; a $10,000 deposit has been made, with the remainder paid at closing.
- Class D KULE-AM 730 in Ephrata, Wash., covering the Wenatchee-Moses Lake area, for $40,000. A 10% escrow deposit has been made.
Thus, total value of the transaction is $374,500. Centro Familiar Cristiano’s legal counsel in the transaction is Jessica Nyman of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.
The Portland, Ore., market has been a hub for Bustos Media for many years. When the company was taken over by NAP Broadcasting in fall 2010 and renamed Adelante Media Group, the Rose City radio stations were sold back to Bustos in June 2011. Among those stations was KRYN.
KULE and KDYK, stations that Adelante assumed control of, were reacquired by Bustos in September 2014 as part of a nine-station deal valued at $6 million.
The sale of the three AMs comes just days after Bustos Media agreed to acquire Class A KYXE-FM 104.9 in Union Gap, Wash., from Centro Familiar Cristiano for $215,000.
