It holds a Construction Permit for 19 watts of power for service to Southampton, N.Y., on the East End of Long Island, at 88.9 MHz, shifting from a mere 1 watt at 99.5 MHz.

That’s good enough for a Hispanic media operator that has agreed to purchase the facility from Charles Williamson, known for his “WALL Radio” Oldies operation serving the Hudson Valley.

The FM translator trading hands is W258CU, and it is moving from Redwood, N.Y.

Williamson’s Hudson Valley Public Radio Inc. has been the licensee, and HVPR was the operator of the now-defunct Jazz network of FM translators serving such cities as Newburgh and Beacon just a few years ago.

Now, pending FCC approval, it is going to Perdomo & Diaz Media Group, a for-profit entity that operates Spanish-language radio stations via its Radio Sharon Foundation.

A $60,000 sale price has been struck; a 10% cash deposit has been made to Williamson’s organization.

Signing off on the purchase for the buyer is “Frankie” Perdomo. He’s the 49% owner along with Nelson Diaz of the buyer’s group and associated with Radio Sharon.

Once this transaction closes, the translator will likely adopt a Spanish-language presentation.
