SEATTLE — With the recent promotion of Cathy Cangiano to SVP/Market Manager at Bonneville International‘s Seattle-Tacoma radio stations, the need for a new Director of Sales arose.

As of Wednesday (9/16), Cangiano’s successor in the role will be on the job.

Taking the DOS position for the station group is Jim Richmond.

He arrives from Entercom‘s San Francisco station group, where he served as GSM for such stations as KNBR-AM 680. In the role, he led a team focused on expanding sports partnerships with the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors.

Richmond joined Entercom in 2014 after previously serving as GSM of the former Wilks Broadcasting’s Denver stations.

He’s no stranger to Seattle: From 2011-2013, he was with iHeartMedia’s stations in the market, as GSM and, later, Director of Sales.

“I believe Jim Richmond’s experience, combined with his business acumen and strong leadership skills are well aligned to capitalize on opportunities that we have identified as integral to our success,” Cangiano said. “In addition to his responsibilities leading the sales teams, he will be a key contributor to our Leadership Team and our constant efforts to align with Bonneville’s purpose.”

Richmond added, “Helping clients market their businesses provides us with a constant learning experience. I know how fortunate I am to be excited and energized at work every day, and hope to help those I work with feel the same.”

Richmond has also worked for CBS Radio, New Northwest Broadcasters and Citadel Communications.
