Earlier this year, Cumulus Media’s VP/Market Manager in Fayetteville, N.C., announced her retirement. On Tuesday, the company revealed who will be taking over for Cheryl Salomone upon her departure from the radio industry.

Effective August 1, Tish Boden will take the role for the company’s stations in the North Carolina market, shifting from Cumulus’ Shreveport-Bossier City, La., station group, where she has been Vice President/Market Manager since December 2020.

A native of the Carolinas, Boden brings over 20 years of radio management and sales experience to Cumulus’ Fayetteville stations. Previous roles include serving as SVP of Sales for iHeartMedia’s eight-station group in Jacksonville, Fla.; and as General Sales Manager for iHeartMedia’s eight-station group in New Orleans.

Cumulus Media SVP of Operations Mark Sullivan calls Boden “an impactful leader with a strong record of success. I’m happy for her to be closer to her family and happy for our team in Fayetteville, as they are welcoming a strong leader. I’m also grateful for the time that I had to work alongside Cheryl Salomone and thank her for her meaningful contributions to the company and to the Fayetteville community. We wish her the very best in her retirement.”

Boden commented, “I truly appreciate all the amazing talent in Shreveport and the phenomenal people I’ve worked with there. I am very excited about the next chapter and look forward to joining the awesome team at Cumulus Fayetteville and building on the great success that Cheryl leaves behind. Thank you to Mary Berner, Bob Walker, and Mark Sullivan for this opportunity.”

Cumulus Media’s stations in Fayetteville are comprised of Spoken Word WFNC-AM 640, Adult R&B WMGU “Magic 106.9”, Top 40 WQSM “Q98” and WRCQ “Rock 103.”
