A Florida-based non-profit operation focused on evangelical Christian programming, founded by Bob D’Andrea in 1979, has closed on its acquisition of a full-power TV station, Class A sibling, and an LPTV cousin in the Crescent City, Sin City, and a key market in the Rockies, respectively.
As reported by TRANSACTIONS TODAY from RBR+TVBR on Feb. 5, Christian Television Network (CTN) agreed to purchase the following facilities from LeSEA Broadcasting Corp.:
- Class A KEEN-CD 17 in Las Vegas, Nev.
- Low-power KWHS-LP in Colorado Springs
- Full-power WHNO-20 in New Orleans
The three stations offer a mix of local and national Christian ministry programs, family-oriented classic television series and local sports programming.
Under CTN ownership, the Christian-themed programming will continue.
The purchase price is $5.7 million, with a $285,000 escrow deposit made to the seller. The remainder has been paid, and the transaction has now closed.
Greg Guy of Patrick Communications represented the seller as the exclusive broker in this deal.
CTA is also the licensee of TV stations in Tallahassee and Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla.; Denver; and Cheyenne, Wyo.
Through affiliated non-profit operations, CTA officers and directors hold attributable interest in 13 other stations.
