Bob Bell dead at 73

Veteran Nashville broadcaster Bob Bell died Thursday (6/10) of cancer at his home in Springfield, TN. He was 73.


According to the Austin & Bell Funeral Home obituary, Bell had a long career in both radio and television. He was a sportscaster or WKRN-TV, a sports/talk host for WLAC-AM and WNFM-FM and a play-by-play announcer for University of Tennessee football.

Born Bryan Bellar, he took the name Bob Bell as he began a long career on radio stations in Lawrenceburg and Columbia, TN, before breaking into the Nashville market.

A memorial service for Bob Bell is scheduled for Sunday (6/13) at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains, TN.
