It is a company that its CEO Steve Newberry created to help bring more visuals to radio, a benefit for the sales team and consumers alike. Now, Quu is welcoming an onboarding and programming services manager who has been a Program Director at radio stations across the U.S. and for the last decade has focused on online and digital research solutions for broadcast media.

Taking the role is Dan Binder, who will serve as the first point of contact for onboarding new clients, working closely with Senior Director of Affiliate Services Laura Gonzo. Additionally, Binder will work directly with programming teams to retain and grow listenership through in-dash content, promotions, and contests.

Since November 2012, Binder has served as the owner and director of digital and online research for DB Media/P1 Media Group. From April 2022-April 2023, he was also a Senior Project Manager of Research and Insights at Dynata.

From September 2011 through 2018, he was a voice talent for WILM-TV in Wilmington, N.C., a Capitol Broadcasting Co. station.

Prior to that, Binder served as Operations Manager of a five-station radio group in Wilmington, N.C. In 2003, he spent a year as Program Director of WMJC-FM in Nassau-Suffolk under Barnstable Broadcasting ownership; Binder’s career started at WMJC under Greater Media ownership, in 1991, as Assistant Chief Engineer.

He’s also been Asst. PD of WQAL-FM in Cleveland under CBS Radio, and PD of Alternative WENZ-FM in Cleveland under iHeartMedia predecessor Clear Channel. From February 1995 through early 1998, Binder was Operations Manager for WQBK-AM & FM and former Classic Rocker WXCR-FM in Albany-Schenectady-Troy, N.Y. From June 1990 until taking the Capital District job, Binder was a familiar voice on the WDRE Network and served as its Albany, N.Y., Music Director, working at the former WWCP-FM 96.9.

“I am incredibly excited to join Quu and be part of a company at the forefront of technology for the radio industry,” Binder said. “Helping stations grow ratings and creating new in-dash experiences with Quu’s unique solutions is an amazing opportunity. I look forward to working with clients to ensure they receive the maximum benefit from our products and services.”

Newberry said, “Dan will play a crucial part in Quu’s first-class service and support, helping program directors and brand managers use Quu’s tools effectively to drive listening and engage their audience. Dan’s deep understanding of the industry’s inner workings makes him the perfect fit for this pivotal new role at Quu.”
