On June 28, RBR+TVBR first reported on the sale and immediate LMA of a Class C2 FM licensed to Liberty, Tex., to the west of the Beaumont-Port Arthur, Tex., market.

The buyer is one of Houston’s biggest non-secular radio broadcasters, and on Monday it closed on its $1.3 million acquisition of the station.

KSBJ Educational Foundation successfully closed on its purchase of Class C2 KSHN-FM 99.9 in Liberty, Tex.

The seller is Trinity River Broadcasting, headed by Bill Buchanan.

Headed by President Joe Paulo, KSBJ owns and operates KSBJ-FM in Houston and KETX-FM in Livingston, Tex., and has grown considerably in recent months beyond its home market.

Scott Knoblauch of Spectrum Media and Bill Whitley of Media Services Group’s Dallas office represented KSBJ in the transaction.

Programming that had been heard on KSHN is now online.

On the KSHN website, Trinity River Valley Broadcasting said, “To all our listeners, advertisers and friends, we have enjoyed our time as your hometown station, we hope we’ve done some good, and we will miss all of you. We will keep streaming at kshn.com, so while we are going off your radio, we are not completely going away. We will still be here, just different.”
