The Broadcasters Foundation of America has added two senior industry executives to its board of directors, naming Radio Advertising Bureau President and Chief Executive Mike Hulvey and Audacy Chief Business Officer Chris Oliviero as its newest members. The appointments broaden the foundation’s reach across the radio sector.

“Mike and Chris each bring unique experience to our board,” said BFOA Chairman Scott Herman. “As head of the RAB, Mike interacts with radio groups of all sizes across the country and can help ensure those broadcasters are aware of our charitable mission should a colleague be in need.”

Mr. Herman added that Mr. Oliviero’s background with large companies and major-market operations positions him to advance the organization’s message among influential industry circles. “We are grateful that they have committed their time, knowledge, and expertise to our cause,” he said.

The BFOA provides financial support to broadcasters facing hardship due to illness, accident, or natural disaster. The nonprofit assists about 400 current and former broadcasters each year, offering both monthly aid during extended recovery periods and one-time emergency grants following crises such as home losses or natural disasters.

Funding comes primarily from the broadcasting industry. Over the past 15 years, annual grantmaking has expanded substantially, climbing from roughly $400,000 in 2007 to nearly $2 million in 2024.
