Bernie Munzelle dead at 80

Long-time Hitachi broadcast sales executive Bernie Munzelle died on Thanksgiving Day of heart failure. He had recently celebrated his 80th birthday.


Munzelle was with Hitachi for over 30 years and was initially hired as a regional sales manager of Hitachi’s Broadcast & Professional division in the late 1970s. 

He moved up the ranks to National Sales Manager, where he was ultimately responsible for landing the CBS-TV Television project which led to the sale of over 300 studio cameras from the early 1980s through to the late ’90s. He was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Broadcast & Professional division and made an officer of the company in the early 90s.
