A recent published prominent magazine article described the forfeiture of $50,000 for failure to identify a broadcast as prerecorded with the advice referenced in this column’s header.
Indeed, we can recall again and again hearing the words, “The preceding (or the following) (is/was) transcribed,” and wondered why this was important. Isn’t 90+% of most anything hitting our airways pre-prepped and recorded before it is aired?
