He’s been in the radio industry for more than three decades and was most recently Market President and Chief Revenue Officer for WBLS-FM and WQHT-FM “Hot 97” in New York.
Now, he’s heading to Tampa Bay to serve as Market Manager for Beasley Media Group‘s six audio brands in the market.
Earning the role overseeing Hip-Hip and R&B WLLD “Wild 94.1,” Country WQYK, Classic Hits WRBQ “Q105,” Latin Contemporary WYUU “Maxima 92.5,” Classic Rock WPBB “98.7 The Shark,” and WHFS “Money Talk 1010 AM” is Ron deCastro.
He officially started his new role on Thursday (10/27).
For deCastro, the shift to Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater comes following previous roles as Market President and Chief Revenue Officer for WKXW “New Jersey 101.5” in Trenton, N.J., for Townsquare Media, a role deCastro held for nearly five years. Before that, he led the sales teams at the former CBS Radio group in New York. He’s also been a sales leader for Clear Channel Communications in both Philadelphia and New York, specifically at WWPR “Power 105.1” in the Big Apple. Other experience includes a role in sales with Barnstable Broadcasting in Nassau-Suffolk.
“I’ve spent a significant amount of my career leading some of the most iconic brands in America and I am excited to join the team at Beasley and help continue grow these fantastic brands,” said deCastro, who holds a B.A. in Journalism from New York University and was Captain of the Track Team in his collegiate years.

Also commenting on deCastro’s arrival is Beasley Media Group Vice President of Operations Kevin Rich, who was with Townsquare Media in Albany, N.Y., while deCastro was in the Garden State capital. “Ron’s passion and exceptional leadership qualities make him the perfect choice to lead our Tampa market and take it to new heights,” Rich said.
