It took roughly two months to pass muster with the FCC and reach a successful closing date. Now, K-LOVE Inc. is the owner of a pair of big-signal FM radio stations sold by Beasley Media Group, with a call sign change seen in Las Vegas.
Those stations are WNKS-FM 95.1 in the Charlotte DMA, and the former KXTE-FM 107.5 in the Las Vegas market.
A call sign request has been submitted to the FCC seeking KLVG-FM for the 107.5 MHz facility, a Class C station with 24.5kw from atop Potosi Mountain. This gives the future KLVG coverage of all of Southern Nevada.
WNKS is a 100kw Class C with a signal that can be heard as far Greenville, S.C.; and Asheville and High Point, N.C.
An $8 million purchase price was agreed to by the parties, with Kalil & Co. serving as the seller’s broker in this transaction.
Beasley has been preparing for the station divestments since early August, when it confirmed that WNKS morning offering “Maney and LauRen” would relocate to co-owned WKQC “K104.7” in Charlotte. Meanwhile, the programming heard on KXTE moved to Beasley sibling KVGS-FM 107.9.
The Hot Adult Contemporary format previously on KVGS had recently returned to its 107.9 MHz frequency after trading it with KCYE-FM 102.7 for several years.
KXTE has been a part of the Beasley stable since October 2022, when Audacy Inc. swapped the property in exchange of KDWN-AM and K268CS at 101.5 MHz — “K-DAWN” — which last week made headlines as it becomes the lone source of conservative talk programming with the shutdown of KXNT-AM 840 due to the loss of its transmitter site.
WNKS became a Beasley property thanks to a multi-property, multi-market asset swap with the former CBS Radio in fall 2014.
