Wiregrass Country is the area of the South that includes Southwest Georgia and Southeast Alabama, with Dothan at the center of the region.
In this city, Bible Broadcasting Network has moved forward with the purchase of a Class C3 FM.
The station BBN is getting is WGTF-FM 89.5, currently licensed to Dothan Community Educational Radio.
That’s the broadcast ministry of the Westgate Baptist Church, and it is agreeing to part ways with WGTF for $440,000.
Of that purchase price, $40,000 is payable to the church; the remainder is to paid to DCER.
A $10,000 escrow payment is being held with Gary Smithwick of Smithwick & Belendiuk.
There is no broker or finder associated with this deal.
That’s understandable, as WGTF is a longtime BBN member station. WGTF signed on the air in 1988.
