Graham CEO’s Goal: STELAR Reauthorization Barred

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Of the five witnesses that appeared Wednesday morning at a Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation hearing, none was perhaps more important to getting the view of local broadcast television companies on the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act in front of the nation’s top legislators than Emily Barr.

Barr is not only President/CEO of Graham Media Group, the owner of seven broadcast stations across the U.S. born out of the former Post-Newsweek Stations group, but also serves as Television Board Chair for the NAB.

The NAB wants STELAR reauthorization nixed. Barr wants it barred.

“Local broadcasters continue to believe that STELAR should expire at the end of this year, as Congress intended,” she told the Senators.
