Augusta Radio Fellowship Adds Another FM

The entity founded by Clarence Barinowski, who operates through the fellowship Good News Network and its GNN Radio, plus the Spanish-language Radio Amistad, is growing again.

The broadcast ministry has signed off on an asset purchase agreement giving it ownership of “The Carolinas Power FM,” which could see a format adjustment.

That station is WJSG-FM 104.3 in Hamlet, N.C., a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) station with a 6kw Class C3 signal covering the Rockingham, N.C., area and towns to the south in Upstate South Carolina.

The seller is Jackson Broadcasting Company, and it is earning $540,000 from the station’s sale.

GNN could retain the format, or change it to Christian Talk & Teaching upon closing.

A $27,000 escrow deposit is being held by Brooks Pierce.

Signing off on the deal for GNN is VP Mark Barinowski.

The purchase of WJSG comes following a July deal giving it ownership of WQDK-FM in Gatesville, N.C.
