The audio content creation and distribution company with majority ownership held by Soros Fund Management has launched the Wisconsin Sports Radio Network, a first-ever offering for a state that’s just a little passionate about its Green Bay Packers, University of Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers — among other teams between Racine and Superior.
Audacy’s creation of the network is designed to “unite the state’s biggest sports voices, markets and fans onto a statewide platform” that it produces and distributes.
The network’s flagship is the AM radio station in Milwaukee that uses an FM translator to serve the market as “105.7 The Fan” — WSSP.
“The Wisconsin Sports Radio Network brings our state’s passion for sports under one roof,” said Jason Bjorson, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Audacy in Wisconsin. “With The Fan leading the charge and these powerhouse affiliates joining forces, fans from Green Bay to Duluth can now experience the best local sports conversation anywhere in Wisconsin.”
Stations joining the network include Midwest Communications-owned WNFL-AM and W270AJ at 101.9 MHz in Green Bay and WDHF-FM 99.7 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisc.; on WRIG-AM and W230BU at 93.9 MHz in Wausau, Wisc.; and on WDSM-AM 710 in Superior, Wisc.
